Dr. Huajun Tang is the Vice President for International Collaboration at The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in Beijing, China and a vice chairman of this conference. Before serving in this role, he was the Director General of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning at CAAS. Dr. Tang has published some 100 articles in international and Chinese scientific journals and has received several awards and honors. The many conferences he has chaired include the International Conference on Agricultural Risk and Food Security (ARFS), which took place June 10 – 12, 2010 in Beijing, China and was co-organized by CAAS, IFPRI, and UK Department for International Development (DFID). His research focuses on in land use and crop modeling and remote sensing and GIS applications. Dr. Tang received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Physical Land Resources from University of Ghent, Belgium.
